District Profile Schnelsen

Schnelsen formerly was one of the poorer farming villages in the late 17th century. Only in the early 19th century was the land explored by residents moving to the outskirts from the center. Frohmestrasse is the main shopping street. Schnelsen is also well-known for its IKEA branch. Schnelsen is offering a mixture of all kinds of simple single-family-houses, new ones as well as historical ones, terraced houses and apartment blocks from the 1950's. It is not too expensive and popular with families. There are numerous facilities for children and the Eidelstedt shopping center, allowing you to catch everything you need on a daily basis. In Burgwedel / Schnelsen, new homes have been built and now attract young families. Schnelsen is presumed a respectable residential area.

The district is divided into North-South direction by the motorway A7. Two driveways connect the residents and facilitate short commuting to the city center and anywhere else. Schnelsen has two train stations for public transport with trains reaching central station within 30 minutes, and the airport is within easy reach.
