The moment you have your apartment logged - sometimes even before that - you need to register, apply for your residence title, open a bank account, take care of your healthcare and other insurances, decide on a telephone and internet provider and install that at your new home, register with the utility providers, notify all your relevant contractual partners of your address change, seek advise on tax matters, apply for children allowances, register your car in Germany, and, and, and...
