Bremen is a lovely small city with a lot of history. Its cute old city center is a real tourist attraction and the architecture in the center still originates from the prosperous times when the business network "die Hanse" was playing a vital role. You will see similar architecture when traveling around the Baltic Sea - whether in Danzig, Riga or Turku - they all show the beautiful red brick houses with the decorative front gables. Bremen has very neat and nice neighborhoods and the cost of living is moderate. Within no time you can visit the awesome beaches of the North Sea. And if you miss big city life: Hamburg is only an hour away by train.
