Wohldorf-Ohlstedt is the district which is the farthest to the North. Its huge forests and large green fields and meadows are a popular recreational area. The residential areas are dominated by single- and two-family houses with park-like gardens. Wohldorf-Ohlstedt has so far succeeded not to allow for any newbuilding sectors, which enabled the existing village character to remain present. The result is a careful re-structuring of the traditional architectural mixture. However, it is also the reason for high real estate prices. A historical heritage is the Wohldorfer Herrenhaus which you can admire when enjoying a walk at Kupferteich. There are two cafes/restaurants which invite for a little refreshment; hence whether or not you live here, it is worth a visit. When going there you should drive along the Duvenstedter Triftweg and the Herrenhausalle where a lot of gorgeous buildings respectively the old farmworker houses can be admired. A Bauhaus villa designed by star architect Karl Schneider is located in the Bredenbekstrasse.

Wohldorf-Ohlstedt has a village center with all facilities necessary and due to the train station it is well-enough connected to the city center. However, the trains go more seldom than in Volksdorf (instead of every 5 minutes they go every 10 minutes in the main traffic hours), which can be a little difficult if you want to enjoy nightlife without a car in the city center. In the opinion of the residents the ice cream parlor "Eisbär" is the best in town! Nearly 30% of the residents have children and there are 5 kindergartens, 1 primary and 2 secondary schools. People are wealthy here and they must be, if they can pay the high real estate prices: the average income of taxpayers has been 92.000 EUR in 2004. Criminality is only half of the Hamburg average with 55 delicts on every 1.000 residents in last year.
Definitely a beautiful, quiet place to live.
