The same background have the apartment houses in Lurup and Langenfelde. Living space is cheap here, but the areas are all not the most popular ones. Unemployment is high and income below average. Lurup also offers a respectable single-family house area away from the above housing scheme. Real estate is affordable here and families like to settle down here. There are still a limited number of the so-called "fish-box-houses" which were built after the First World War by the poor inhabitants of Altona. These people (were) moved in 1923 to the very rural area and the town plan provided for 52m² living space and a real estate of 700m² to conduct some farming. The size of a lot of floors still refers to these old plans.
